Community Navigator

Tarpon Springs Shepherd Centers’ Community Navigator provides resources and support to at-risk individuals and low-income families in Tarpon Springs and North Pinellas County, so that individuals can live as independently as possible and function at their maximum potential.

The focus of the Community Navigator is to provide case management services with the goal of linking individuals and families to resources to ensure their overall health, safety and well-being.

The Community Navigator is able to accomplish this with the assistance of the Shepherd Center’s Outreach Program which registers low-income families and individuals for services.

  • Tarpon Springs Shepherd Center food pantry provides weekly groceries for those in our community experiencing food shortages.
  • Weekly community food drops are scheduled by the Community Navigator to meet the needs of those unable to access the pantry services for residents in neighboring communities.
  • The Navigator works as an Outreach Case Manager and through our partnership with the Tarpon Springs Housing Authority is able to provide a grocery delivery service to home-bound seniors and persons with disabilities who are not able to access the food pantry services.
  • Through partnerships with local healthcare providers, and other community organizations, the Navigator and Tarpon Springs Shepherd Center Outreach Case Managers have access to many valuable resources and services available in North Pinellas County which not only allows us to provide better services, but to also insure that our clients receive the appropriate resources and referrals to meet their needs.
